Description:

We are a non-profit organization, established in 2006 with the mission to reduce the high incidence of diabetes and heart attacks in Indians and South Asians through culturally tailored, science-based, and lifestyle-focused services. The Center's AIM to Prevent™ program's revolutionary approach has helped thousands to lower their risk with comprehensive evaluation, expert lifestyle counseling, and personalized health coaching. The Center’s STOP-D program helps those with prediabetes or diabetes to stop diabetes in its tracks.

We are looking for a Digital Marketing intern to join our team for the AY2021-2022. Applicants should be proficient in the Google suite, use of diverse social media, and adapting to a fast-paced work environment. Interest in medicine and initiative for health awareness, will be an added bonus!

Marketing interns will gain valuable hands-on experience and holistic understanding of the marketing function of a non-profit organization geared towards Medicine and Health.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist Marketing Manager in executing marketing strategies for AIM to Prevent™ program, STOP-D program, create other educational programs and work towards general brand awareness.
  • Post and update events on media outlet to bring awareness.
  • Draft and schedule all social media posts.
  • Assist in composing and sending communications to participants, providers, community members, and corporate contacts.
  • Assist in drafting and sending all monthly e-newsletters.
  • Keep social media accounts updated while incorporating new marketing techniques.
  • Keep track of social media analytics to see what is most effective/reaching the largest number of people.
  • Keeping organized records of previous, current and future content made.
  • Ensure timely submission of all required materials/ updates

Evaluation Report and a Certificate of completion to be given at the completion of the internship.

*Duration: August 1, 2021 – August 30, 2022 (Tentative start date: AY 2021-2022)

* Time commitment: Aug 1 to June: 4-5 hrs/week. Summer hrs: 15-20 hrs/week.

These internship positions will be remote to partially remote.

*Qualification: High School Student (Rising Sophomores/Junior/Senior)

Required Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Strong written and verbal communication, Basic knowledge in at least one Marketing/ Design Tool (Canva, Figma, Photoshop), Previous Experience in hosting a Social Media Presence for an organization, club.

Desired Skills: Proficiency in multiple Marketing/ Design/ Branding Tools, Basic knowledge of any analytical tool (e.g. Google Analytics)

Soft Skills: Organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication (emails, phone, and social media)
