A standard internship requires 2 months (8 hours a day) of application of skills and tools learned. Since you are a high school student you may have to prepare and upskill for certain internship requirements. Some internships may last based on work hour commitment required (from 1-4 hours a day) till 3 months, 6 months and 12 months depending on the projects assigned by the employers.

A standard internship requires 2 months of application of skills and tools learned. A 3-month internship is more than required to apply and implement your learned skills and knowledge if you are working with full commitment and focus.

Since high school internships are very limited no. of open positions ranges from 2 to 20 which depends on organization to organization and project requirements.

 I. On site tasks - This is going to be a daily routine. You may be assigned multiple tasks and responsibilities on a daily basis to perform.

II. Assignments - There may be some assignments that may be asked to complete apart from your working hours.

III. Review & Feedbacks – You will be advised from time to time by your mentor which will help you grow further and improve your skills that will add to your experience.

 IV. Final Evaluation – You will be evaluated on the tasks and responsibilities assigned to you and expected outcome. This feedback session will help you understand how productive and proficient you are to enter the workforce in the given field.

Standard course duration is 20-30 hours. Some may last in the range of 10-30-hours per course based on multiple courses on different difficulty levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced).

  3. Help candidates identify hindrances and challenges in establishment of career plans and provide solutions to overcome these challenges.
  4.  Identify and recommend to psychologists or therapists if a candidate is unable to engage properly in the career-planning process or finalize decisions due to anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem.

A counselor’s fees may range from $50-$500 per session (at-least of half an hour session). No of sessions may depend on what your expectations are; and how much and quickly your counselor can facilitate you using his/her experience and network.
