Internship Description

Senator Bob Wieckowski is currently accepting applications for his Legislative Internship Program.  The program offers students the opportunity to learn more about the legislative process, and constituent service and provides in-depth experience in working in a state legislative office. 
The program is flexible to accommodate school schedules. Internships are unpaid and available year-round and can be completed in exchange for academic units.  It will be your responsibility to arrange a course credit if the institution you are attending offers such a credit. 

Responsibilities

•    Tracking state legislation 
•    Researching state policy 
•    Drafting constituent correspondence 
•    Assisting in district event planning 
•    Assisting with speech writing
•    Staffing the Senator at meetings
•    Responding to constituent casework

Additional Information

Skills and Qualifications 
•    Interest in Public Service and the Political Process
•    Excellent written and verbal skills
•    Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet
•    Strong attention to detail
•    Punctuality
